Location:
Denizli is 230 km on the east from Izmir and 210 km on the north from Antalya, only 190 km north of the famous resort and flying area Babadag/Oludeniz.
Currency:
You may exchange your money at the banks or at exchange offices. Currently 1 USD is worth 1.40 YTL (New turkish Lira) and 1 Euro is equivalent to 1.85 YTL.
Arrival:
Flight: There are daily flights every morning (45 mins) and one in the evening with Turkish Airlines from Istanbul, which is the turkish hub of the airliners. The Denizli airport is called Cardak and it is 65 km away from the city center.
Bus: There are frequent busses from all cities in Turkey
Train: The Pamukkale express is departing at 5:30pm from Istanbul Haydarpasa train station. Journey takes about 15 hours :)
Transfers:
Please contact us at least a week in advance, so we can plan your transport from the bus/train station, or the airport in Cardak/Denizli
Accomodation:
Will be the Hierapolis Hotel ( http://www.hierapolishotel.com/en/ ) at Pamukkale, which is the resort area of Denizli, located at the ancient city of Hierapolis with the magnificient travertines. We will provide free accomodation, breakfast and lunch pack for all competitors. If you are a non competitor and should you need a reservation at this hotel, please send us an e-mail, so we can book you with the very special Pre-World Cup rate of EUR 15,-- per night including breakfast. If you have a labtop with you, there is a WIFI service at the Lobby area.
Weather:
Conditions by end of May show an avarage (30 Yrs) of 24'C and max of 31'C . Enough to create nice strong thermals for long tasks.
FAI CAT II :
This competition is approved for XC Competition Category 2 .
Qualification Requirements / Kayit Kriterleri :
The competition is limited with 120 pilots and pilots with 4 x min 40 km XC and 2x competition backgrounds will be selected.
Guvenlik acisindan yarisma 120 Pilot ile sınırlandırılmıştir ve yarismaya katilabilmek icin en az 2 yarisma tecrubesi ve min 4 kez 40 km uzerinde ucusunuzu belgelemeniz gerekiyor.
Registration fee for the competition is EUR 65,-- / YTL 120,--
